Acanthocalycium klimpelianum
(Weidlich & Werdermann) Backeberg 1935

Plants solitary, flattened globose, to 10 cm (3.9 in) in diameter. Ribs about 19, acute, slightly notched. Areoles elliptical, yellowish brown, to 6 mm (0.2 in) long. Central spines 1-4, straight, awl shaped, brownish, lowermost one directed downward. Radial spines 6-10, unequal. Flowers white, 3-4 cm (1.2-1.6 in) long.
